Adam Webb, President

Bachelor of Commerce, Concentration International Business

Adam Webb is a fourth year Bachelor of Commerce student concentrating in International Business. Adam became involved in the SBSS in his first year as an Athletics Committee member. He then transitioned to Co-Formals Director in his second year, and with a successful year on council Adam progressed to his current position of President for his second term. Adam has been involved in various aspects of the Sprott community including the role of fall orientation leader for Sprosh and participating in various Sprott club activities. In the upcoming year, Adam will be acting as the business representative on the Carleton Senate and hopes to participate in several case competitions. Adam hopes to relay his passion for the Sprott School of Business to the students and offer each student the ability to have the best experience at Sprott. Adam will graduate in 2017.

Sophia Figliomeni, VP Internal

Bachelor of Commerce, Concentration Management

Sophia Figliomeni is a third year Bachelor of Commerce student.  Sophia first involved herself into the Sprott Community in her second year and obtained various roles.  With an exciting Sprosh experience, she participated in fall orientation as a Manager, then became a member of the Formals Committee on SBSS.  She also obtained the role of the Sprott Student Engagement Assistant through Carleton’s Peer Helper Program.  Sophia enjoys getting involved in the Sprott community and will use her position on the SBSS council to encourage students to get involved during their time at Sprott. Sophia will graduate in 2018.

Jacqueline De sousa, VP Marketing

Bachelor of Commerce, Concentration Marketing

Jacqueline is currently a fourth year Commerce student studying at Carleton University, Sprott School of Business in Ottawa, Ontario. She has a passion for sailing and on her free time competes in Canada’s largest undergraduate conference and case competition group, DECAU as well as Sprott Competes. She is currently a Summer Student at RBC working in Commercial Banking. Jacqueline has been an active member of the Sprott community and is looking forward to utilizing her passion for marketing to make a difference within the student community. Jacqueline will graduate in 2017. 

Shaun Crook, VP Finance

Bachelor of Commerce, Concentration Accounting

Shaun Crook is a fourth year Bachelor of Commerce student concentrating in Accounting. Shaun has been an active member in the Sprott community over his previous three years. This however, will be Shaun’s first year as a member on SBSS. Some of Shaun’s goals as VP Finance this year include; helping facilitate the organization of events, establishing financial reporting frameworks and ensure that all students at the Sprott School of business can have the best university experience possible. Upon graduation in the spring of 2017, Shaun hopes to be pursuing his CPA designation. 

Liam Gravely, VP Academics

Bachelor of Commerce, Concentration Finance and Marketing

Liam Gravely is in his final year of his Commerce degree where he has been double concentrating in Marketing and Finance. This is Liam’s first year on council, having spent his previous years as a member of Carleton’s Varsity Golf Team. With a passion for Academia and experiential learning, Liam is joining council as this year’s Vice President of Academics, where he hopes to enhance Sprott’s academic offering through a portfolio of professional workshops and case competitions. While in Ottawa, Liam has become heavily immersed in the business community, having acted as a Sales Strategist for an abundance of high tech start-up stationed out of Carleton’s LED Accelerator and award winning Lead to Win Program. He is currently spending his summer work term at the Business Development Bank of Canada, where he is assisting in their financing and consulting operations. He has also represented Carleton on a National and International stage, through continued participation in Sprott’s elite case competition program. 

Cassy Bay, VP student life

Bachelor of Commerce, Concentration Marketing

Cassy Bay is a third year Bachelor of Commerce student concentrating in marketing. Cassy became involved in the SBSS in her second year as the Social Director. Due to a successful year she was able to transition into her current role, VP Student Life. Cassy has been involved in many different aspects of the Sprott community including the Debate team on JDCC, as well as becoming a Sprott Student Ambassador. In the upcoming year, Cassy hopes to build her skills and participate in several case competitions, along with that she would like to increase the engagement of new and existing students within the program. Cassy will graduate in 2018.


Kyle Taylor, VP external relations

Bachelor of Commerce, Concentration Finance, Minor Political Science

Kyle Taylor is a 4th year commerce student concentrating in finance with a minor in political science. Kyle has been with the SBSS since his first year and has been an active member of the Sprott community. Starting as an academics committee member, Kyle assisted with all academic workshops and case competitions put on by the SBSS later leading to his appointment as VP Academics for his third year. During his tenure as VP Academics Kyle expanded the academics portfolio to include a larger committee, additional workshops with speakers throughout Ottawa and Toronto, and a second internal case competition. This led Kyle to continue on with the SBSS as VP External in which he works with the formals, charity, and corporate portfolios’ organizing events such as the Sprott Banquet, Sprom, 5 days 4 the homeless, and building partnerships with organizations throughout the city. One of Kyle’s main goals is to build Sprott’s presence throughout Ottawa and grow the SBSS in offering new and innovative initiatives, partnering business professionals with students.
